An odious environmentalist has abandoned his own idea of planting as many trees on the planet as possible

At the UN climate change conference in Dubai, he pointed out the drawbacks of mass tree planting, such as suppression of biodiversity and insufficient carbon capture.

Crowther also warned that tree planting could be used as an excuse to avoid cutting emissions. He called for a focus on preserving existing forests, allowing them to grow and develop naturally, as he believes this will help offset emissions more effectively. Crowther’s work now focuses on stopping “greenwashing” and making real positive environmental gains.
